A minor set back

Mum and I had a chat about options for if I don't get accepted to Sydney --

1. Stay in Hobart and do the diploma via distance education at Deakin, volunteer in both museums here, then have qualifications to either work in Melbourne or Sydney and undertake the masters part time.

2. Move to Melbourne and do the diploma, volunteer in some of the many museums over there, then apply for jobs in Sydney and undertake the masters part time once the diploma is done.

Tomorrow I'll call the help line and try and get more information, like when I'd find out if I weren't getting an offer from Sydney, or if I can get special consideration because I don't even live in the state and I want to make plans, those sorts of questions. Melbourne wouldn't be so bad. It's a means to an end as mum said. I'll be able to get work out of it, even though I would much prefer the Sydney course, but the main goal is getting work in this field and not wasting another year. I'll take what I can get.
