An action plan

Next year when life is better I'll do a 2011 recap and it'll be fantastic. I know this year is going to be great. I can't wait for it to take off when I move to Sydney. January is going to be good. Jan and Fra are coming for a visit, I have Fronting MONA, the Maritime, packing and moving to Sydney, and experiencing the trials [I'm sure] of finding a house and getting settled. I wish I could live alone and slowly fill all rooms of the house with my things but I'm not sure that will be possible. I'll get used to living with people, plus I won't be so lonely. It won't be forever and I can always move. I truly believe this year I'll find true love. I'll get thin and fit and do all the things I want to change in my life. It'll be a great year.

In the next week I need to --
+ organise my written references from Alison [thebeach] and Rona [the Maritime]
+ apply for jobs in Sydney
+ go to Centrelink and get the ball rolling with future payments
+ start work on assignment 2 [and 3] for Fronting MONA
+ visit Holly
+ possibly make an appointment for my first tattoo
+ contact Kirsten Long's friend Katie about her plans for Sydney, and
+ look into photography courses in Sydney.

I have lots of little things to do, especially with the move creeping closer and closer, so if I can make sure I keep lists of all the things that need doing then I'll be on top of it all. It'll get me into the routine of making lists and getting myself organised. Wonderful!

My birthday and new wants

Today is my birthday. I am now 24 and it doesn't even feel like my birthday. It's very surreal. I do what I have done for the last few birthdays, which is making sure I do things that make me happy and things I want to do, something a little special. I went for a walk to Snug Falls and took lots of photographs with my toy cameras. It was nice. 24. I'm glad to be slowly putting the Yorick years in the past. That's important to me.

I am so glad I have the internet back on my computer. It definitely means more freedom. Also soon I'll start moving over to the shed. Sooner than later is best I think. More independence again! I'm not sure about the bathroom over there. The shower scares me a bit as it is very close to the ceiling, raised a little, and the whole house makes me think of spiders as a lot often are residing there. The shower itself is great, better than the one in the main house, but the spider factor puts me off. Might be best to use it though.

New things I want --

Shoulders Back -- $109 for the 'liteweight' version or $129 for the normal version
This orthopaedist-designed nylon vest gently coaxes your shoulders into proper position to help prevent chronic neck and back pain and improve posture.

* Excuse the grey boxes on these pictures. They are a zoom function on the website.

Gaiam: Pilates Coreplus Reformer with DVD -- $39
This innovative new fitness tool has a unique four-loop design that mimics a Pilates reformer machine, offering a dynamic resistance workout to tone, strengthen and stretch the entire body. The 45-minute CorePlus Reformer Workout DVD includes three short, focused segments so you can customise your workout to fit your fitness level and schedule.

These are out of a Christmas catalogue that mum got in the mail. It has a section of a clothes store/company that she has bought a few things from over the internet and I had a browse and found a few things I like. Now to get them...

Toy cameras

I stumbled onto another blogger's blog and she loves her toy cameras! She mentioned two new ones, the "Lomographic Pop 9" and the "Kid Lomo Robot style 35mm 3 lens" cameras. I might have to do more research on these and keep watching her blog to find out more about these amazing cameras. I love them! I need to use them more. I think she will give me more inspiration and new cameras will be great to play with. I really do need to get back into photography. I think in Sydney it will be better because everything is new and unexplored. It's easier to start there I think.

Tomorrow I'm going to call the "10 Buck Bus" service that I will hopefully use to get to and from the airport next Tuesday to get to Sydney and back. Leaving my car at the airport will either be $26 or $33 for my departure and arrival times according to a calculator on a website for the Hobart Airport so I'll try and skip that if I can. I'm really excited about going. I thought it was Tuesday today for some reason but knowing it's Friday makes me realise that next week and my next trip to Sydney is much closer than I thought! I'm very excited. I can't wait to have more sushi and the good hot chocolate I had from a place on George Street and go to the movies again and buy more jewellery from the shop open late near the Event complex [where the movies are]. I'mloving the city already. I'm going to explore more museums and the Botanical Gardens and it'll be great going to Uni for postgraduate studies in particular. I'll get what I need next week. Finally.

I keep thinking about Sydney! It's like my life will be starting. Bad to think that I'm not having the life I want right now and that I'm not making the most of it but I think it will be better next year. I don't want to live my life in Hobart. It's sad because all my friends and half of my family are here, and I'll miss things with new family members like Etta, but to start with Sydney isn't all that far away. When I move to the UK that will be a different story. I might not end up there but wherever I go it won't be here. I want to explore all of the world. I don't have to feel guilty for that or stay here just because I might miss out on some things. All the more reason to go in some respects. I don't want to stop my life just to watch others' unfold.

I've stumbled upon even more great new cameras I now want to buy. I'll put pictures in.

1. Lomo kid robot 3 lens 35mm

This one is so cute. I think Holly would love it. It does something unusual too. It splits the frame into 3 and has the same picture for each. Here, it's easier to show you.

2. Lomo fisheye 35mm

3. Lomo ActionSampler 3 lens 35mm

4.Lomo Oktomat 8 lens 35mm

5. Lomo Horizon Panoramic

I really want this one. I think it'll be the perfect way to take panoramas since it's always so hard to stitch them together normally. Well it's a hassle. This one is pretty expensive though. Hmm. I'm excited though!

My own business?

I haven't written in a little while but I've been thinking about all that's happening in my life and all that's going to happen. Exciting times ahead.

On Monday I bought the United Kingdom and Ireland Lonely Planet guides. They are really nice books with so many colourful pages and pictures. I got a bit worried yesterday thinking about how I'm going to plan stuff but if I write down all the places I want to go under the heading of a country or city then they can all be ticked off when I'm there. My sister should do a Contiki Tour at some point so I can do my own thing while she's away on one of those trips. When my aunts Jan and Fra are out at the end of the year they can help us plan things as well. I'm loving this.

On another note, I've been thinking about Yorick and what's happening with my dealing with it. I don't really miss him. I miss having someone next to me in bed or cooking and eating dinner with. Someone to watch TV with and yell out to [in a cute way] across the house. It's not so much him because we haven't been a couple in a while. I just miss those kinds of things. I know I'll find it again though. I like that we're still going to be friends. In Launceston this week, Sophie and I were having a chat about it and I mentioned how I think he's avoiding any closeness because I think he might be thinking that that might make me want him back or something. Well I don't, but Sophie said that boys have a hard time separating friends from lovers. I'm fine with it but I guess I have to go with his flow and how he wants to take things. We haven't seen each other since the dinner but I want to give him space so he feels how he wants to feel. I'm happy with space too. I mentioned to him in a message about the power bill and if he paid his half [he didn't] and I asked how he was. He said he's still sick [with a cold] but that it's clearing up and asked how I've been. I said stuff about the bill and how I'm feeling better about Uni with deciding to quit and move in a different direction. I wrote "I'm researching the UK more and am planning to get a one way ticket, maybe work there for a bit and do some travelling. I think it's good that we are taking the time to be young. There's plenty of time for families and settling. I do want that one day but it's nice to feel free to go explore the world first. We'll get what we want from life I'm sure. Let me know if/when you want to hang out one day. It would be nice to see you." I wanted to let him know that I'm independent and that I am enjoying being free, to have options such as travelling, and that I'm okay with it all. I hope he is a bit shocked.

I got an email today from my lecturer for 301 and I didn't pass the DVD Interview assignment. It came as a relief, even though I wonder why I didn't pass, and it's good that I don't have to sit that exam. I hated that class the most. I'm not going to be doing social work anymore and I'm glad that decision has been made. Marg suggested I go see Student Service and ask them about skipping out on my other exams. I don't see the point and maybe they can back up that decision for me. I'll go to class next week but not after that, unless the suggest I go to the exams. Ahh well. In 301, you have to pass that assignment to do the fieldwork next semester and I won't be doing that anyway so it was nice getting an easy way out. I can't wait for anthropology.

I might have mentioned that I want to make covered button earrings. I had an idea about making them into a bracelet. I might be able to make an Etsy shop with my store name as "gone to neverland" and sell things on there. How cool. Since seeing Holly's creations and her market stalls I've been inspired to have my own business in craft and maybe I can have that. I think it'd be so fun and extra money on the side. I'm going to do it. I'll have to make a banner and chose my font and get some cards printed to put my earrings through. Holly can help me with all of this and I think she'll be proud.

I want to do more photography. I need to go and get fit. Lots to do.

Photography hobby

Image from weheartit

I want to take photographs like this. I need a theme and I think at this stage in my life it's the perfect focus because that's all I want. I will take many, many photographs and they will be beautiful.
