Horoscope matching

Scorpio + Sagittarius
One common factor between Scorpio and Sagittarius is that both of you are goal oriented overachievers. While Sagittarius is always read to try out new things and see new places, Scorpio only wishes to concentrate on home and love life. At the same time, Sagittarius compliments your conservative and quiet side by being outgoing and surprisingly bold. At first, this trait might not sit well with you, but you should keep in mind that Sagittarius may get you out of your comfort zone and teach you to let go and have fun. Your relationship with Sagittarius is also set to get some tongues wagging due to the unexplainable chemistry between you two. As usual, your controlling and possessive nature can lead to the end of an otherwise beautiful relationship. Your inability to trust your partner because of their outgoing and friendly nature may end up making Sagittarius insecure. If you ever break up, you are very likely to remain good friends.

Friends sounds good.

What an emotional 24 hours!

Wow. What a horrible few days. I was upset yesterday because JD was gone and I couldn't quite understand why I was feeling so down and sad and like I couldn't do anything to fix it. I called Holly and we had a good chat about it. She told me to take a deep breath and I was feeling better, until the evening. So I was meant to be doing homework all day, not that I did. I went for a walk in the Queen Victoria Gardens and sat down and tried to rest my eyes. From all the crying I had done that morning they were so hard to keep open. I listened to some music then went to meet Jess at 430pm at the Southern Cross Station DFO. We had a chat about it and she said she had heard some things about JD from Kate and Beth but hadn't actually met him. Holly said he must be nice because he has been texting me and said sorry that we didn't meet up. Back to that point later. So Jess and I went and met up with the Perth girls for a drink. They were with some of the other boys from the party, including Mark, but no JD. It was okay. I felt a little funny but I wasn't asked about anything. Then I went to go to the Washington concert and after about half an hour I had another breakdown, a worse one. I couldn't stop crying and had to get out of there and I called Holly again. I was struggling because I didn't want to be alone and didn't know what to do about anything. She said for me to call Jess and go to her place and it was exactly what I needed. Here is my enlightened Twitter post:

I think what's happening is that I'm feeling what I do after a break up. What I went through after Yorick was that I need to be around people all the time to help me not feel alone. I need that now. I think that's why being at the back packers is so hard, plus it's not a home. Being at Jess's has been just what I needed but I"m afraid to leave. If I had my own room in a house here it'd be better. Comforting. That's what I need but what can I do until then? I can't be alone.

It's a bit desperate and I'm actually feeling better now. We watched Inception and I have started to apply some of the mind tricks to my situation. I'm locking all thoughts of JD into a big black square safe with a big lock. I do think about him but I have been trying to rationalise it. He's not Yorick. The pain was 10 times worse there. He's a silly Perth boy. He's a slut. He's not my ideal guy. It was just some fun. I liked the physicality of it more and the feeling of being with someone in a boyfriend girlfriend way. It's not about him, but at the same time it is. I just really hate that I've come undone again. It's all piling up on me -- the lack of money, the lack of a job and the lack of a house. It's going to work out. Holly and Ruben are coming over in 1.5-2 weeks for just as long as we'll be able to hang out and she said I'd have a place by that stage. I sure hope so. It was so great being at Jess's. I can't wait to have our own place. I want my own room and somewhere nearby, even the backyard if there is one, to relax in and heal. Nature is my Church after all. I like that I have discovered that. This afternoon/evening Nicole and I are going to go down to St Kilda and go to the beach and get some food. I love beaches. They have always helped me deal with issues. I can always go back home for a few days next week if I really need. Then again I wouldn't know what to do with all my stuff. Kirsten's? I just have to keep on top of this. I can conquer this and I shall. I just have to belittle the JD experience. So when I was at the Washington concert, not that I saw anything, I got a text from JD saying "Hey I'm sorry I didn't get to see you before I left, I feel really bad :(" and that started me crying again. I had to get out. I wrote back "That's ok. It would have been nice to see you... I had lots of fun with you." I haven't heard anything since and I probably won't for a while. So yes, Holly said he must be nice because he wrote that to me. He is nice, and he's cute and funny and weird but also a bit of a slut. Hmm. As my horoscope said, I just have to move on. Here are some good ones:

Monday 25th -- the morning of the party.
Someone finds you mesmerizing, Scorpio. You have that affect on a lot of people, but this individual really knows how to work it. He or she is a master of flattery and seduction, and could make you feel like a million bucks. Don't succumb to this type of adulation today. Just because someone is enamored with you and has a passionate way of showing it doesn't mean you should jump into anything. You are a sucker for sweet talk, because you happen to be quite a sweet talker yourself -- but this may not be the right situation for you. Think it over.

I wish I knew what this really meant at the time. I'm not sure when I first looked at it though and even that day I didn't realise what it meant. Only way after the fact. It's definitely a lesson learned. I won't be doing that again, ever.

Friday 19th -- today.
All the worrying in the world won't change a thing, Scorpio. Usually you are someone who can move past a problem with ease, and not keep looking over your shoulder. But you may now been caught up in worrying about the future affects of something that has already been completed. Did you make the right choice? What do others think of how you handled yourself? Will there be a fallout from what you said or did? All the worry is pointless, no matter that happens next. But in fact it is especially meaningless because you did everything right. Move on. Sop worrying.

These are a little contradictory but the message to move on sounds like just what I need to do. And that's why I'm trying to do. It was just hard to metaphorically fall over like this again when my whole life is unsettled. It's not a good combination.

This one is nice in itself.

Tuesday 26th -- Wednesday.
When an apple tree blooms, each delicate blossom eventually becomes a delicious Macintosh or Gala or Granny Smith apple, and so on. It's almost miraculous to watch the progress of a tree in flower as its branches become heavy with fruit. You are now in the blooming stage with a special endeavour,m Scorpio. Don't worry so much about when you will get to the fruit-bearing stage. Just enjoy the fragrance and atmosphere of the moment, and know that you are on your way to getting what you are working for.

I think this could be referring to my assignments, as that's the only possible explanation from the time. I did finish an assignment on Thursday night while hoping for a text from JD to say to come and meet him. I really want to know what he's thinking about everything, and if he felt bad for me or for him that we didn't get a chance to meet up again. I think bad for me. He probably doesn't care all that much. I shouldn't even be thinking about this but I think it's better to get rid of it all into here and have a clear mind, like for the second assignment I need to finish! That's why I'm here out at Uni. I do wish that we had had a chance to meet again. I really liked it when he kissed me goodbye so tenderly and hotly and convinced me that we'd meet again. It's probably for the best though. Sigh.

I guess I had better do some homework now. I think I'll be feeling strange for a few days at least, especially since I'll be alone in the back packers. Nicole is looking into me moving into her back packers so that'll be nice. Each bed has its own power point(s) and shelves next to your head so I won't even have to leave my bed to watch movies or do some homework. It'll be nice just to have her there, even though what I really need is to be staying at a house. I'm not sure that's possible though. I seriously cannot wait for this back packing stage to end. I'm way past over it. It's the whole alone thing and the no comforts of home thing too. Damn this. Tomorrow I need to go to Jess's work and apply for a job there. I think Nicole and I and maybe Chelsea will be looking at another house. Amy and I are tentatively meeting at 2pm as I'm not quite sure what's happening. I might also come back out here to do more Uni, unless I go to the State Library. I just need to keep busy. It sucks though as I have maybe $300 left and half of that will go to a room for a week. I will get paid again by Centrelink on Monday so that's a relief. I just wish we didn't have to be paying this rent. Hopefully we both get jobs soon. Mum and dad are going to help me out financially so that's nice to know but I still feel really poor. Damn it! What a high and low week. Mostly low. Was it worth it? I'm not sure. It's not just JD though but that doesn't help.

I should really do some homework. I just needed to vent. This is going to be a struggle but I shall conquer this.

Give me the perfect house and setting

You have been working diligently toward something that has not panned out. You've double-checked your facts, consulted your experts, and spent the necessary time getting things in order. Yet you may be driving yourself crazy trying to figure out just what you're doing wrong. The answer, Scorpio, is that you aren't doing anything wrong. Sometimes delays occur for a reason. Your current endeavor will eventually succeed -- when the timing is right. Just keep on as you have been and remain confident of your efforts, and you will achieve success.

This completely to do with houses. At least that's what I believe. I'm having no luck at the moment. All I can do is set appointments and hope for the best. It sucks though.

Hope, courage, and bravery.

So, what's new? No house news but I am secretly waiting for Sarah's ex housemate Nicole to get a job here and say she'll live with me. Until then I might wait. I had a bit of an almost breakdown on Wednesday going out to Uni and back for the text book. I had had a little look at some photos I've seen of James, George and Etta and it made me almost cry seeing them. On the tram I was sad. Damn hormones. My Pills ran out and I missed one and the hormones swept in. I've been feeling emotional since then. Drat. I can't remember my train of thought as I started this rant but I know it had a purpose. I wanted to say something else. I hate forgetting that kind of thing.

I have been getting into studying as of yesterday and am quite enjoying it. I have taken a little break now as dad got me thinking about external hard drives and he'll buy one for me there and put all the TV episodes from the Margate computer onto it then send it over. Mum will be getting some money from the Uni books I put up to be sold so they'll take the money out of that. I need to get a new laptop. Monica at the Mission got her mini laptop for $300 at Dick Smith but I might get a mid-sized one. Not too big, not too small. I can't choose between the two sizes. Small is great for lectures, train rides, and holidays, but bigger is better for writing assignments, watching TV shows and altering photographs etc.. You can always get a monitor for the smaller one but I may as well go for the medium sized type. I'm a bit worried about money at the moment so I'll wait until I'm settled in a house and have a job. I want one for under $500 if that's possible, which is should be.

The Mission was good yesterday. I did a lot of scanning until Monica's laptop had a nap as she forgot the power chord. Oops. Then we went on the computer there, had some lunch near the Police Museum, and went home by 3ish. I went to Centrelink after that and got all my business sorted. My address has been changed to here, at Kirsten's, and I have my temporary Health Care Card which gives me comfort on public transport when the ticket inspectors come and ask you for your tickets. Apparently you have to have the Health Care Card to qualify for a concession ticket. I was astonished when Kirsten told me. There are signs on the trams that I didn't see. Ha ha ha. Now I know and now I am safe. They've been on the trams twice, once the looked at the date, which I strategically only showed them, and the second time they didn't bother. Strange but a relief. I do like traveling on trams.

I do miss home a bit but I haven't cried about it. I miss the ease of the life there, knowing where everything is, and having family to be around all the time, but here I love the new adventure, Uni, being in Kirsten's house, and how everything is new and exciting. I love the lifestyle and yet I miss my old one. I almost cried on Wednesday because I was going to look at a bedsit in Richmond, which was already taken despite still being on the internet, and realise that I didn't want to live alone in this city because I would be so isolated. I wouldn't see my friends enough to get me by and would too often be alone. I came to the decision that I must live with someone. I'm not as brave as some people to live alone, even though in many ways I would prefer it, but at this stage I'm a coward. And that's okay. I am building up my bravery. One step at a time. I couldn't imagine living by myself for a year and not having family around to make it okay. In Tasmania it would be more than fine as the whole place is a comfort to me but here it would be too different and hard to deal with. I just hope it all works out with Nicole and that she would want to live with me. Eek. Otherwise I'm sure I'll be able to find someone like me and Nicole to live with. I won't limit myself to Richmond or Hawthorn, even though I'd love to live in either of those suburbs, because it's not too hard to get out to Uni from Kirsten's and it might make finding a place easier. I'll just have to wait and see.

Change doesn't always come easy, Scorpio -- even when it's a good change. You may be enduring some tempestuous circumstances now. There is a sense of upheaval, of confusion. But this is all clearing the way for a change in your life that will be a relief once is arrives and you recognize the difference in yourself and in those around you. Put a smile on your face, and know that whatever happens today and over the next few days will be for the greater good. Evolution is in progress.

Day 2 and horoscopes

Oh my gosh I am broken. I have a headache and feel weird. It must be the heat and all the learning. Today at Uni we had a lecture in the morning then went to the Schwerkolt Cottage and Historical Museum. It was quite amazing. I got a lift from a lady there and back to Kirsten's and I am so glad to be back. I'm frustrated about not having my own place though. I don't want to outstay my welcome here.

A nice, inspiring and through-provoking horoscope for me today --

If you are looking for security, Scorpio, you will have to find it in yourself -- not in exterior forces like money, prestige, power, or other people. All of those can come and go. There are no guarantees. The only way to gain confidence and self esteem is to build it internally. That begins with faith -- faith in yourself, faith in your abilities, faith in those who love you, and faith in the universe. Now more than ever you need to trust that the cosmos knows what you need, and will provide it. When you can reach a sense of balance in that regard, you will gain a sense of security that no one can shatter.

My horoscope from Saturday the 5th --

If you have been feeling stressed and pressured recently by money or security-related issues, you will soon be able to breathe a sign of relief. New opportunities to increase your income and add greater stability to your financial outlook will occur just when you need them most. In the meantime, don't give up hope, and don't do anything that may cause your situation to become worse -- such as borrowing money or making a financial commitment of any kind. Over the next few months, your situation could improve to the point that you will wonder why you were ever so worried about it in the first place.

I truly hope this is true, that things improve. I do feel stressed and pressured but next Monday I will receive my Centrelink payment and that gives me comfort. The money side is a bit stressful but my main concern is finding a place to live. I want to live by myself, and as the horoscope above points to, I have to have faith in myself in that even though I will feel lonely sometimes, I am doing the best thing for myself at this time and I have friends around and can call my family whenever I want or need to. It's also about getting myself and my life organised. I want to get into the routine of great habits and I believe that living in a share house will restrict this. I can only rely on myself and by living alone I will have to be self-sufficient, which will help me grow in many ways. I just hope something turns up soon. Kirsten's laptop isn't loading the real estate page properly so I'm having a hard time.

For right now, I might get something to eat and have a rest while watching a movie, maybe Easy A. I watched Marie Antoinette a few times and I really like it. I need to send it to mum as it was her idea for me to buy it for her. It was my idea to watch it first. I love those period dramas. I belong in one. Sigh. Hopefully I will feel better soon.

Graceful and free

Anna means grace/graceful.
Frances means free.
Grace/graceful is onkei in Japanese.

I love that Holly means hiiragi. That's the name of her sewing business. I wanted one so we found this today. Onkei is cute. It can be a nickname for myself! Hehe.

It was so nice catching up with her today and talking about Melbourne. We had a hot drink over in Salamanca at Say Cheese [I'd never been there] then I went to drop in my final piece of assessment for Fronting MONA, then went back to Holly's boat for a few hours for more chats. We also looked up my/our rising and moon signs.

Sun sign -- Scorpio

Scorpios stubbornly cling to emotional attachments. They rarely forget or forgive emotional rejection. They have to learn that jealousy and possessiveness are self-defeating. Rechanneling negative feelings and experiences into constructive activity benefits others, as well as themselves. No other sign has the emotional strength as Scorpio (Daily Horoscope run down).

Rising sign -- Capricorn

With this Ascendant, you come across as serious, cold, disciplined, patient, focused, thoughtful, ambitious, indomitable, cautious, lucid, persistent, provident, steady, introverted, stern, willful, hard-working, responsible, persevering, honest, realistic, loyal, reserved, resolute, moralistic, quiet, rigorous, attached and reliable. But you may also be curt, withdrawn, calculating, petty, cruel, unpleasant, ruthless, selfish, dull, rigid, slow or skeptical.

Moon sign -- Leo

The Moon in Leo tries hard to create a decent and elegant lifestyle. He or she insists on buying clothes and items which are special in some way...

Playing, celebrating and partying are the best ways for Moon in Leo people to restore their energy after periods of stress. For good self-esteem, every now and again they also need to be viewed, appreciated, and adored.

If they don't have enough love in their life, Moon Leos can have problems with their heart, circulatory system or their general levels of physical energy. Problems with vision are also quite typical.

So that's me!

I'm so glad to be done with my essay. It'll be nice to relax tomorrow and watch movies or plan for Melbourne. I just won't want to have to do anything. That will be nice. Then again I'll be doing a lot of that I think. I also hope tomorrow I will feel better. Sarah and I went out on Wednesday night to Cbar for dinner and drinks, then to her place with 2 bottles of Trevi, then to Mobius for dancing. We stayed out until 530am. I have had a sore neck since waking up at 12noon that afternoon and all through today. I have also been feeling horrible. I'm not a fan! I just want to feel normal again. I hope it happens tomorrow. Please!

Choose to be in a good mood

It's a brand new day, Scorpio. Isn't that wonderful? You can start anew, dream new dreams, or change something you want to change. But if you allow yourself to get caught up in something negative from the past, then it isn't really a brand new day after all. It's an old, dark, unforgiving day that you will live over and over again. Let go of something that's bothering you. Maybe it's a mistake you made. Maybe it's a mistake someone else made. Maybe it involves guilt. It doesn't matter. You now have a chance to start over.

I have to think more about this. I often get in a bad mood and don't know how to get out of it but it's a choice. It's not permanent and I can choose to snap myself out of it or do something fun and exciting to make me snap out of it. I like the idea of completely letting go of something that's been bothering me to start a fresh day. Otherwise it does keep coming back. There is something on my mind that haunts me a bit but I shall try to get rid of it once and for all. I don't intend to have anything further to do with it and I won't. Now to stop it entering my mind...

I'm working on my essay for Fronting MONA which is due this Friday. I'm gathering my last bits of information so today I might focus on organising the information and figuring out what I will include. I can't wait for it to be finished. So now I need to go attack it.

Chinese Horoscope, 2011 and compatibilities

2011, year of the Rabbit -- horoscope for those born in the year of the Tiger.

2011 in general --
Welcome to the year of the White Metal Rabbit or Hare (the Cat in Vietnam). It will begin on February 3, 2011, and it is the fourth year in the twelve-year cycle of the Chinese horoscope.

Since Rabbit is a calm, quiet, and reserved sign, this year is going to be more peaceful and serene than the previous year of the Tiger. There will be no jaw-dropping events or terrifying accidents to cause stress or apprehension. This will be a year to get plenty of rest, to relax, to accumulate power, and to reflect on the past in order to prepare for the future. Rabbit is a very hospitable sign, so 2011 will be a good year for social gatherings, making connections, and spending quality time with friends and family. Due to Rabbit's diplomatic traits, this year will be an excellent time for communications, discussions, and negotiations. It will also be a year to make peace with old enemies, and to resolve any outstanding issues and misunderstandings.

Rabbit is a symbol of fertility and commitment, so for those who plan to tie the knot, 2011 promises a happy and long-lasting marriage.

Year 2011 for Tigers --
This year Tigers will be full of strength and energy. They will be very lucky in love - Tigers will be adored and cherished by their significant other. With the serene atmosphere at home, this sign will be able to better concentrate on business matters.

Tigers will have lots of brilliant new ideas, which could lead to potential career growth. In 2011 all serious competitors will disappear as if by magic.

Overall, this will be an excellent year if Tiger can learn to prioritize, avoid getting greedy, and not try to accomplish too many things at once. Tiger people should learn from the relaxed and tranquil Rabbit how to decompress and enjoy their rest. Everything is in their hands this year.

I think this is a good horoscope for me this year. I have already had hints from my daily horoscope to relax and I think this is definitely a skill I need to perfect. I love that I have good love potential this year. I hope I find my perfect match.

I also looked up the Scorpio matches with other star signs and have found two I'd love to have a relationship with.

Scorpio and Pisces
The relationship between Scorpio and Pisces is almost magical. It is full of amazing love and passion for each other. Pisces will accept you as you are and work with your flaws for the greater benefit of the relationship. Pisces will understand and touch you in a way that no one else has before. Their ability to accept you just the way you are will definitely make you fall in love with Pisces. on the other hand, your practical approach to live and your no-nonsense attitude is what Pisces requires in a mate to make sure what Pisces's wild imagination does not get the better of them. Pisces tends to be overly emotional, and you will therefore need to carefully watch what you say. Scorpio will help Pisces to see things practically, rather than emotionally, in order to avoid some of the unnecessary heartache that seems to hunt Pisces. The compassionate nature of Pisces will counter the demanding and controlling nature of Scorpio and lean to and understanding between the two of you. The kind of love that Scorpio and Pisces have is the undying kind and no matter what happens, you will still hold on to each other.

Scorpio and Capricorn
Good friends at first, and then lovers -- this is how it usually works for Scorpio and Capricorn. When entering a new relationship, you will have to overcome your natural mistrust and learn to believe in one another. Once you get to know each other you will be extremely comfortable with one another as you have no inhibitions when talking to your Capricorn partner. You have a lot in common: you are conservative and unless you both agree on going out, Capricorn will just be as comfortable back at home. Your possessive nature can take a back seat when you are in a relationship with Capricorn because they expect too much from you. In turn, Capricorn is known to be hardworking, industrious, prudent and determined. Therefore, if you have any goals to achieve as a couple, Capricorn will be very cooperative. The traits you both exhibit also mean that your relationship will not be bridled by financial difficulties. However, you should be on the lookout because Capricorn is highly motivated by money.

I think I would prefer a Capricorn now I write and re-read these two. I hope we find each other!

Horoscopes and love and plans

If you are looking for instant gratification in a relationship, Scorpio, forget it. It's rare that two people meet and are instantly in sync in every way. The best friendships and romances take time, and they are certainly worth the effort. If you haven't yet found the one you are looking for, it may be because you believe you are owed that immediate spark. Or, if you ware involved in a relationship that is progressing slowly, please don't rush it. If you can be patient and forgiving, you will find that it was worth the wait.

I always thought that when I'd meet the guy I was to eventually marry that I'd know instantly, like Sometimes Sweet, but maybe that is rare and maybe it's not how it'll work out for me. It hasn't been like that in the past with the relationships I've been in but that's because they weren't the one. I do believe that the names of the people we choose are similar to the one we will end up with. The three relationships I've been in have all had similar name lengths and a common letter and I think that might mean I'll end up with a similar named guy. That's just my theory. Jeremy, for example, went out with me, Anna, a girl called Ang, and is now with a girl called Hannah. Similar! I like the patterns I see in relationship matches.

I forgot to put love on my list of wants. I want to find love and settle down as well as study, travel and have my own house. Love is the key to my ultimate happiness and it's hard being single right now but it's for the best. I have to be strong and independent and make sure I'm ready for the next one, the right one. Holly and I have been messaging and she said it's just a bit of panic and that I don't have to go on the day I thought I would so I have time to decide what to do. She said I can always move to Melbourne if Sydney doesn't work out. I think Sydney will work out though. It's a better city in my eyes and making it there would be greater than doing the same in Melbourne. It wouldn't feel as great in Melbourne. I don't like the city and it would feel like I'm following everyone else. It's a standard thing moving to Melbourne, no offence to my lovely friends who are living there or going to live there. It's just not for me. I believe I could make it work in Sydney. It's just sad that I might not get into the Uni there. There's still time.

30 for 30, horoscopes and the move

While I was at Orford on Sunday I had the perfect horoscope in the paper. I'm not sure if it was a weekly one or not but it fits perfectly --

Your mind is on several things at once. One thing is higher education and perhaps enrolling in some sort of course.

Here is part of one from today --

You are making something much harder than it has to be, Scorpio. You are straining when you need to be relaxing. You are putting yourself under pressure when you should be more carefree ... You are a tough crowd to please, but you are even tougher on yourself. Ease off a little now. The less seriously you take yourself, the better things will work out.

... means I have omitted something, by the way.

Tonight I might find out whether or not I have been accepted into the Uni of Sydney. I hope, if I'm to be accepted, I find out straight away after 9pm. I'm not sure if they'll email me or if I'm to check the UAC website. I really want this. It'll make moving to Sydney a more enjoyable experience. Going to the Uni there is what would make it whole. Please!!!

Once I start losing some weight, I can finally get working on building up my closet and finally sorting that out. I posted a little while ago, here, about Kendi Everyday's Create A Working Closet series and part 4 is out. I'm not sure I blogged about it. Part 4: Shopping. I'm currently looking at old daily outfit pictures from Sydney and Kendi. I want a great wardrobe with pieces I can successfully do a 30 for 30 with. That is a dream of mine!

I loved some of those cute room/bed picture I found on Tumblr yesterday. I must print them out and take them with me instead of having them on my computer so I can use them as a reference when out on the town buying things. I'm so excited. As my horoscope said, I have to be more relaxed about the move. I am stressing/scaring myself too much and that needs to stop. It's going to be an amazing adventure. It truly will. In time I'll make friends and all will be okay.

A splendid afternoon with Holly

This afternoon was fantastic! I got to Holly's for around 3pm and we chatted for 2 hours, had cups of tea, and a great old time. We haven't caught up in a while so it was really nice touching base and hearing all the gossip, especially since I got some of it on NYE 2010. To start off with the juicy stuff, apparently Yorick was put a little off balance after seeing me on NYE as he wasn't expecting me to be there. Things got a bit strange on the boat as there were gatecrashers but Ruben sorted things out and a few days later, Ruben went over to see Yorick and talk to him about how things went on NYE because his 6 years younger than him girlfriend invited these gatecrasher. I think it's funny. Apparently she, aka Ebony, is more screwed up than he is and, as Holly put it, he might be heading towards his spilt milk reaction. I love Holly's insight into life. In other gossip, rather news, we found the ideal tattoo 'font' for my surname! It's braille. We were discussing my latest desperate attempt [the bar-code] when Holly came up with the idea of braille. It looks cool too. Mysterious. In the picture below I think I'll go for the one without the tinier reference dots. I'm not sold on having them there. Maybe in a light grey if they were on the tattoo. So I can now book an appointment! Both Holly and Emma are going to come with me. I'm super excited.
We also looked at studio apartments for me in Sydney! Holly got onto the Domain website and there are some apartment/units there that I hadn't seen on the site I was looking at. Some with their own bathrooms for a start and still around the price I was looking for. I think I'll find a great little place. I also decided that I won't compromise my dreams by living in a share house as I think in most areas it would make me unhappy and regret the decision so I'll stick to finding my own place, probably in Newtown. I love that I'm dealing with this issue more because now I'm happy and will enjoy living with not much furniture because it'll be all mine. That is my wish.

Another spot on horoscope for January 6.

If you haven't done so yet, Scorpio, let go of any regrets you carried into 2011. There is no place for them here. This is to be a dynamic year with a lot of positive change, much of it centered around your own personal evolution. If you drag old wounds or mistakes into what should be a positive and progressive time of transformation, you will only slow down this marvelous process of reinventing yourself. Not that there is anything wrong with the old you ... there is NOT. But you now have the chance to add greater dimension to what is already a great work of art: YOU!

I have been carrying regret about my recent contact with Yorick into 2011 and have struggled to let it go. Ebony got to me a bit, and not asking how Yorick was going made me feel guilty, but it's in the past. He made his own decisions about his life and me not liking it has got nothing to do with anything. I have to let it go. I don't need to feel guitly. I know this year is going to be a great year for reinventing myself, a process which has already begun, and if it is to be as great as I hope it will be then I have to stop thinking about him. It's in my past, especially since we're in a new year, and I have moved on but not so completely that I don't ever think of him and wonder what he's up to these days. I am curious but I have to let it go. This is my year to shine. Here's to new beginnings.

Treasures

I forgot to post this daily horoscope but I will now as I know they don't stay on the "database" for long. It's from Wednesday the 29th of December 2010.

If you've ever sat along a shoreline and watched the ocean, you've seen the tide go out and then come in again. As it travels out to sea it brings along the small treasures that were scattered in the shallows, like bits of sea glass and tiny shells. When it returns it brings new treasures. Your tide may be out right now, Scorpio, but it's definitely coming in again and soon. Look for things to begin working for you in a better and more productive way, and look for a collection of new treasures to inhabit your life. Your prospects for financial gain will soon be much, much better.

I hope I get more money soon. I'm not saving much at the moment as I have barely any shifts but I'm intending to get back onto Centrelink so maybe this is what it means. I like the idea of new treasures. I love the possibilities of 2011.

Goodbye and good riddance 2010

Daily Horoscope --
Although you can certainly handle having a lot of alone time, Scorpio, and you are known to be quite independent, you are also quite the social animal. But even if you don't have any exciting parties to attend or any other plans for New Year's Eve, you can still enjoy the evening. You should take a moment tonight to at least recognize and acknowledge everything you've accomplished this year. You probably feel a sense of anticipation for what lies ahead in the coming year, and a symbolic toast to your future is definitely in order -- even if you're in bed before the fireworks go off at midnight.

I am rather excited for the two events I'm going to this evening. I'm starting off at Grace 2's house for a gathering then heading off to Emma's for a party. I have some alcohol but am struggling with what to wear. I got a dress from Melbourne a few years ago but it's too short for me to feel comfortable in it so I might drop by Big W and see if they have a black petticoat/slip. Wearing it with my regular black work skirt [which I always wear even if I'm not at work] looks a bit funny but better than not wearing it. I have to organise a back-up outfit now too. Drat this.

When I read this horoscope this morning I tried to think about what I've accomplished this year. I'm struggling even now. I guess I know what career I want to be in. I've spent time doing the things I want to do and am about to embark on a great adventure to Sydney. I know what kind of relationship I want to be in and what to avoid. I feel more like myself too. It's been a strange year and I am so glad 2011 is finally here. I believe it will be fantastic. Here's to 2011.

Christmas Day

Daily Horoscopes [Scorpio] I found particularly funny and relevant --

Christmas Eve
Cookies and chocolates and peppermint candies, oh my! Egg nog and sparkling cider and hot cocoa, too! This is the time of year to indulge. And you should too, Scorpio. Don't worry too much about your waistline right now. It's always wise to be healthy of course, but sometimes you prevent yourself from truly participating in joyfulness because you worry too much when you should be more carefree. Let go of those worries for a few days, and experience some lighthearted fun. It's time to take a bit of time to really enjoy yourself. You deserve it.

Christmas Day
Be careful about drinking too much wine with your dinner this evening, Scorpio. And watch out for all that fat in those buttery mashed potatoes. And cookies ... well, you can just forget it. If you indulge too much today you will then have to put a health and fitness requirement into your list of New Year's resolutions. But wait a minute ... if you want to improve something about yourself -- whether it's your weight, or your muscle tone, or even less obvious qualities -- you have to make it a long-term commitment. So enjoy the day, and change your lifestyle, not just your list of resolutions.

I do want to make getting fit a long-term commitment and I will do it whilst in Sydney. A change of state and a change of routine is what I need to make it happen.

Had a lovely Christmas breakfast and now James and George and Etta have arrived! Off to celebrate.

Back in Tasmania

I am so very glad to be back. This morning wasn't a very fun trip back though. First I had to get up at 6am. Not completely unpleasant but tiring. Then I misplaced my return Sky Bus ticket so once I got to the station I had to buy another. Luckily I got on the Sky Bus that was already there. I didn't want to be late. When I got to the airport I almost had to pay another $80 because my stuff was too heavy and I had an extra bag with my goodies in it. The lady at the desk was really nice though so she said to stuff it all into the one bag and hope that I didn't get my bag weighed or I'd have to pay the money. That was so nice of her. When she mentioned the $80 so many things were racing through my head for 20 full seconds she must have felt bad for me. Then on the plane people kept slightly bumping into me. Melbourne is not for me. I don't like it! Fate was telling me I'm meant to be in Sydney, and I think my horoscope agrees.

Horoscope -- To Be Blogged because I'm far, far away from my phone

I've been chilling most of the day since I got home. Sarah and I did a rush shopping trip to pick up some lay-bys after she got me from the airport at 925am then I got home and had some food immediately as I hadn't eaten all day. Then I did some homework [almost finished my cover letter for the first assignment for Fronting MONA. So proud] and watched Gilmore Girls. I have to work at 630pm, which is a bit annoying, but tomorrow Sarah and I are off to Opossum Bay to visit J and G and E. Then I might have work on Saturday evening and definitely have work Sunday-day, which I'm not too jazzed about, but it means I get work over and done with. We have the staff party that evening so that will be fun. Not a big one for me though as I have Uni the next day. I'm kinda glad work won't be so busy for me, although the money will suck. Hopefully I hear back about more volunteering.

I'm tired. And I feel weird. I'm not liking today and I'm not liking Melbourne. I'll have a late one tonight too so getting enough sleep before tomorrow won't be good. I'll have to get up at 830-9am to make sure I have enough time to shower and eat something. Drat it all. I'm getting tired again. Sarah gave me a V as soon as I got in the car and it worked but now it has worn off, at least I think it has. I never know if it's working or not. I just like how it tastes. I can never tell with it, or Red Bull.

I might go back to bed and watch more Gilmore Girls before it's time to head off to work.

Such a good day

Today has been a great day. I feel like everything is falling into place and I deserve it! I didn't understand my horoscope this morning but now I do --

Tonight at dusk - when it's not quite daytime and not quite nighttime - you need to make yourself open to messages about your future. This in-between place is symbolic of a situation in your life right now. What you're experiencing may make you feel as through you are in limbo, not knowing where - or how - to go to the next step. But, as nature takes care of the passage of light to darkness and darkness to dawn, you will soon find yourself in exactly the right place. Don't over-think it. Just let the universe guide you.

I had forgotten all about this horoscope until way after the events that unfolded this evening and I think it's sending me a message. I bumped into Kirsten Long and two friends here in Melbourne while I was wandering around aimlessly and she invited me to have dinner with them. They're all doing Uni and are from Tassie and that in itself was funny. I think one is living here, but Katie, I think she's living in Tassie and they are both lovely girls. So. We got talking about Uni and both Katie and I are intending to move to Sydney next year and we might end up living together! She's got another person in mind and we might leave room for a fourth but I think it's all fate, bumping into Kirsten like that! FATE! Mum had called while I was having dinner and called her after we were done and had said our goodbyes and mum's friend Kerin knows someone in Sydney who will be willing to rent me a room for $70 a week. This is all working out perfectly. It feels right and like my dreams will actually come true. Katie is going to email me about house opportunities, hopefully in Newtown which is in the opposite direction to Glebe, and will probably move in at the start of February or around there. It should all work out with Fronting MONA and finishing up at thebeach. I sure hope it does.

After wandering around Melbourne today and hanging with Carly, I realised how much I don't want to live here. I don't like it. It's too grungy and like a labyrinth for my taste so I'm extra hoping I get into the Uni of Sydney. I probably wouldn't be able to afford living in Sydney alone, not anywhere near the city anyway, so this is a good substitute. Living with people I know and like will be good and I'll meet people that way, maybe even my future husband! It'll work out nicely and it won't be forever. I can handle it.

Shopping today with Carly was good. I bought a cute tea canister from T2 and a 'MAIL' letter holder and 2011 desk-top calendar from Typo. There is a small Typo section in Cotton On in Hobart but we went to the actual store and it was fantastic! I really love it in there. I'm going to love living in a big city and it'll be nice having friends there and living with them won't be so bad. It'll be great actually. I am so very excited.

I've had a headache for a while but I went for a bit of a lie down after hanging with Carly and took two Nurofen and felt better after a while. I'm rooming with two Canadian girls and a third person I haven't met and the funny thing is the place we went to for dinner, the Mess Hall, was where one of the Canadian girls works! How weird. I'm going to go straight to bed after my time has finished here in internet land [10pm], have a snack, then possibly read manga for a bit then sleep. Tomorrow I need to get to some of the museums and possibly the Uni even though I'm set on not going here. It might be worth a look. The museums will be good at any rate. I haven't heard from Amy yet but I might hang with Carly again tomorrow. I'd like to go to Bimbos and have cheap pizza and maybe go to Savers. Kirsten mentioned it and how she bought a few cheap dresses. Apparently it's a second hand store, I guess like an op shop but better, as Carly has also mentioned it. Many possibilities. I just need to get a good nights sleep tonight and I'll be okay. I was so tired on the flight over and afterwards, even now. 40 mintues and I'm there.

I bought two mangas today. One was buy an author I have read but can't remember the name of the manga, and one was called Black Butler [I think] which is a different name for an anime series I already have. I think the manga will be great. I have loved getting back into manga over the last day, or less than a day, and want to buy more cheaply from Just Manga. It's such a good site and a while ago I stopped buying things from there when my manga candle burned out but now I'm back and ready to buy again. Not just yet but soon!

I am so looking foward to bed. Hopefully I'll get to sleep fairly quickly. I haven't had enough lately and it's catching up to me. I hope tomorrow will be good too. It's way after my bed time!

Love in 2011

Lately I have been religiously checking my daily horoscope on my phone and last night after midnight I checked the one I got for today. I love it.

A new year is coming, Scorpio. And it comes with the chance to begin again. What will you write on your fresh slate? Hopefully you have learned a lesson or two about love, and about hanging on to a good relationship tight enough to show you care, but not so tight that you smother it. Even though we're only entering the second week of December, it's not too early to start composing your resolutions for 2011. Make your love life a priority for the coming year. It's your time to shine, and love should be at the top of your list of priorities.

Love and family, travel and my career are the three things on the top of my life list so this fits in perfectly. Whenever I think of next year I think of falling in love and finding that illusive soul-mate as well as starting the year with a fresh slate. After this year I need it. I am so excited. Panda [a work mate] and I were talking about relationships last night and I really miss being in one and having an ongoing dialogue with someone but at the same time it's good that I have this chance to rearrange my life and focus on what I want in it. I am glad I'm not with Yorick anymore and it's great because I didn't know I wasn't getting what I wanted. Thanks to starting the BSW, I now have the skills to thoroughly examine relationships or anything really even when I'm in it. I just have to look deep and figure out if I'm getting what I want.

I am amazed at how accurate this horoscope is concerning my desire for a fresh slate next year. I can't wait to go out on my own and make a life for myself. I want to have fresh berries in the fridge for breakfast and make banana bread again and eat healthily. I want to do Jillian Michaels' Making the Cut over 30 days and get my dream body. I want to find a great house for a great price not to far from Uni if possible [or in cycling distance] and study my butt off so I can get into my dream career. I want to meet the man I'm to marry and go on holidays with him and settle down. I want it all and next year is when I'm hoping it will happen.

I love imagining the house I'll have and over time getting furniture and filling the empty spaces. It will be great to have my own space and make it just how I want. I might have to get re-inspired by Carrie Bradshaw. I want to get vases and flowers and fish and I want to frame my posters and have a table by the front door for my bag and keys. I would love an outdoor table and 2 chair set and one of the wicker egg-shaped chairs. It'll be fantastic.

A year of changes.

I went for a lovely walk this afternoon to the top of Red Hill where we used to go as kids. It's so lovely up there. You can see some of Snug and Conningham, possibly Bruny Island and to Mt Wellington. It was lovely. I felt so free, undisturbed by the pressures of work and responsibility. It was heaven. While I was up there I read Danielle's birthing post about baby Henry and it was lovely. I want that one day. I'm clucky.

Andi sent me an email about this course done through the Uni with MONA [Museum of Old and New Art], which will be opening in January next year, but the applications closed on the 18th of November and it start tomorrow. I tried to call the person in charge but it's no use. It's too late and I would look bad what with already being late to arrive to the news. It's a shame I didn't look at my email before either, our Uni email that is, as I would have gone out for it. It is a shame but it obviously wasn't meant to be.

Work was dull today and it's so strange for a Sunday. The restaurant is usually packed on Sundays, which is why I don't like to work them in the day time but am glad I am home this evening. It's nice to have work out of the way and have the evening to myself, especially since it's still light out. Once I got home I felt like doing something and I'm glad I went for the walk up to Red Hill.

This week I'm working Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights all starting around 6pm, 5pm on Sunday. I'm glad I'll be getting more work but I feel like Joerg, the manager, if going to fire me at any moment. He kept pulling me up for things on Saturday night and one other day this week. He's only here for 2 weeks and I don't think he will fire me for my silly mistakes [Opening another bottle of wine when I didn't look thoroughly enough and see a hidden opened one, almost doing this again and being growled at for it, and taking the protector off the top off a bottle of red to get to the cork. Joerg said it was tacky but Alison, the owner, taught me that little trick. I didn't mention that to him] but I can't help think he will. I need this job though. I need to save as much money as I can and I can't afford to lose it. There is no chance of finding work when I'll be leaving so soon. I'll have to be on my best behaviour. I think he just wanted to use his authority a bit too. He's usually very nice.

I don't know what I'm going to do tomorrow. I should start writing a list of things I need to do, like work on and finish my New Zealand and Vanuatu Travel Books. That is something I really need to finish. Then there's getting ready for next year, but that doesn't need to be started until closer to my leaving date, whenever that ends up being. I really want to know if it's going to be Sydney. I'll be devastated if it's not. I will do some studying tomorrow. That's what I'll do. Probably take Katie for a walk and hopefully start working on the Travel Books. They really need to be done. Then I have work.

Tuesday we're having a family dinner with some special guests -- mum's friend Christine and her daughter Lilly, who has recently become the face of Tasmania I think, something to do with Vogue, and possibly Lilly's partner. James and George will be up with Etta and it'll just be a very nice evening. Wednesday I'm Christmas shopping with Andi at K-Mart and apart from that I have no real plans for the rest of the week.

It'll be December soon! I can't believe how fast this year has gone and yet nothing great has happened to me. I've had an interesting year.

Here's something from the Daily Horoscope application on my phone.

Year of the Tiger.
The Tiger is a fighter, so this year calls for bravery, courage, and strength of spirit. This year will be anything but quiet. It will bring to our lives the element of surprise and suddenness. The circumstances and situations will be changing rapidly and many people will find it difficult to adjust to 2010's instability.

Regardless of the protection of their mascot, Tiger people could have either a very lucky or a very unfortunate year. Either way, this will be a year of big changes. The stakes are high, and so is the risk.

So there you have it. This year for me has definitely seen big changes. I had to show bravery, courage, and strength of spirit through breaking up with Yorick and beyond that by dealing with everything that came afterwards. That whole experience was surprising and sudden, very out of the blue, and I haven't enjoyed 2010 at all. Since making plans for next year and for my life, I have just wanted to skip to the point where it all begins, afresh, in another part of the country, but alas, I am still waiting for the adventures to begin. 2010 has been a very unstable year for me. I will be glad to see the back of it. I'm sure I'll feel a sense of relief, but then again it won't be full until I have moved out of Tasmania. A year of big, big changes, that's for sure.

If I won a multi-million dollar sweepstakes...

Daily Horoscope [from my phone]. Scorpio.

If someone knocked at your door today and announced that you had just won a multi-million dollar sweepstakes prize, how would your life change? Would you quit your job, dump your significant other, move to another part of the country? Would you reevaluate your coterie of friends, go back to school and study your dream career path, begin a charity that is so close to your heart? Whether you win a lot of money or not, Scorpio, the answers to this question say a lot about what's missing in your life. Choose at least one to begin, and you will enrich your life.

When I read todays horoscope I marveled at how spot on it was regarding the last 6 months. So many things have changed and so many are yet to be but there are many things in the works. My life is completely different and I know what I want but am waiting for things to fall into place.

I want to move to another part of the country and am waiting to hear back from Sydney. I did dump my significant other but it wasn't my plan, it was his. I would definitely quit my job. My friends are fine and I see them when I want. I am hoping to go back to school and get into the right career path for me -- museum studies -- so that's another one down. One of the main things I want to do is travel. Winning the sweepstakes would be fantastic and I would up and leave to go on holiday now to the UK as I have family there although I want to travel around South-East Asia first. I don't want to go alone though so I'd probably save the money and go when I find my future husband.

What's missing in my life is adventure. I want to start afresh in Sydney next year and study at the beautiful University of Sydney. I want to have my own house and make it just as I like, over time of course as money will be an issue. I want to be dependent only on myself for most things and learn to be self-sufficient. Eventually I want to find my ideal partner and start a family as I am totally clucky these days and do lots of travelling. If I were still with Yorick I wouldn't have any of these marvelous plans or the desire to do more. I would be stuck in a dead-end relationship and still not be able to see it. That's depressing. I just want these last few months in Tasmania to speed up so I can start my new adventures. First I need to know if I'm going to Sydney or not. Then I can really plan and have a date that it'll all begin. If I don't get in, coming to terms with the knowledge that I'll have to go to Melbourne will be hard. I don't want to go there. I don't think there's any other choice though, as I don't have an honours degree and will never get one. It has to be Sydney.

So, a lot of things are already in motion. Now I just have to keep waiting.
